Day 130 - Blackdown Tablelands

Day 129 - Friday - 27/9/2026

Today we left 1770 and drove to Dingo where we set up camp and there was what we think was the first thunderstorm on the trip.

Day 130 - Saturday - 26/9/2026

Today we drove into the Blackdown Tablelands where we first went on a 100m walk to a lookout where we had a spectacular view of all the mountain ranges around. After that we went on a 3.6km walk to 2-mile creek which was a small waterfall with some lush vegetation around.

A random bug that dad photographed that turned out to be the super rare Sandstone Ochre!

Next we drove to Rainbow Waters where we walked 2km and over 240 steps down to the falls where we saw some big skinks.

Although the falls didn’t have much water coming over it there was still a big pool of water at the bottom with trees surrounding it. Then we walked back up to the stairs to some circular rock pools at the top of the falls where we had a swim and jumped of the rocks into the deep pools of water.
