Day 127 - Seventeen Seventy

Day 127 - Wednesday - 23/9/2026

Today, we walked down to the beach and paddled around in the water before heading back to the vans for lunch. At 2:00 PM, we hopped onto the LARC which stands for Lighter, Amphibious, Resupply, Cargo and drove straight into the ocean!  The guide taught us about how 1770 got its name for when Captain Cook landed there.

Because it can travel on both land and water, we easily propelled our way across the bay.

When we reached the other side, we drove right up out of the water and onto the sand, where we spotted some amazing birds.

After the LARC we went on a very short walk to the Bustard Bay lookout, it was windy but the views were good.

Day 128 - Thursday - 24/9/2026

Today we stayed at the caravan park where we did schoolwork and for dinner we went to a restaurant at the marina called Barraca by the Sea which was one of the best meals we had on the trip.
