Day 6 - Trephina Gorge
Day 5 - Sunday - 24/5/2026
Today at 8:30AM we got to have some free pancakes at our caravan park and they tasted super good, today was our last day at Alice Springs so after our pancakes we went to Trephina Gorge, on the way there we stopped at Emily Gap and Jessie Gap, but they weren't super exiting. When we got to Trephina Gorge we set up camp and then had dinner around the fire where we toasted delicious marshmallows.
Day 6 - Monday - 25/5/2026
Today we went on a walk on the ridgetops of Trephina Gorge, before we started the walk my dad and grandpa did a car shuffle and parked one car at the end of the walk because the walk was 9 kilometres one way and so it would have been 18 if they didn't do that. The walk took us about 6 hours; the start of the walk was pretty hard and tiring but once we got to the top of the gorge, we had a beautiful view of our surroundings. At the top of the gorge, we also made some pretty big cairns from the rocks we found on the floor. The walk was pretty rocky with lots of spikey spinifex grass and extremely tiring, my brother even fell over a few times because of how uneven the ground was. One surprising thing was that we saw almost no life except for grasshoppers and flies. At the end of the walk, we drove home on an extremely bumpy road with lots of rocks and water, it took us half an hour to just drive the 4 kilometres home! Once we got back home, we had dinner around the fire again and toasted more marshmallows.
